About Whimsy

Whimsy was born from the kind of creative chaos that starts with a scrap of paper and ends with a masterpiece—or a delightful mess. Either way, it’s worth it. We’ve been cutting, gluing, and dreaming since childhood, and somehow never stopped. Over the years, the scissors got sharper, the ideas got wilder, and the passion stuck around like Mod Podge on a favourite brush.

Our designs are made for the bold: for those who see beauty in broken things, who believe furniture should have feelings, and who think a well-placed unicorn can solve just about anything. We believe in bold colour, big stories, and giving old things new life.

Everything we create is printed with love (and a lot of pigment) in Australia—ready to be turned into something magical by you.

At Whimsy, we don’t do flawless. We do perfectly imperfect.
(Unless it’s our print quality—there, we aim for nothing less than the best.)

So if you're prone to getting paint on the dog and glue in your hair, are wildly creative, and deeply allergic to beige—welcome. You're in the right place.
Let’s make something ridiculous and beautiful together.

“Daisy’s Chair” (2022)

Mixed media on salvaged wood

By Daisy, age 4

Originally scavenged from the street and thoughtfully repurposed by the artist known as Muuuum, this piece marks the beginning of Daisy’s Destructurist period. The bold black strokes, applied over an earlier pastel scheme, reject restraint in favour of raw expression.

What may appear accidental—drips, smudges, and chaotic lines—reveals a calculated dismissal of convention. The near-comedic placement of brushwork is not without intent, but rather central to the piece’s power: a fearless, first declaration that art does not ask permission.
